Dear Sir Madam

As you have advertised for the country to write in and contribute their thoughts to the new constitution I felt strongly enough to put pen to paper.

1 . On the point of the censorship of pornographic material including magazines, sexual materials and films, I would like to recommend a tightening up. I have seen in other countries such as America and England how pornography has degraded (sexually) children and adults, this has also raised the level of rape./

I've always enjoyed the censorship South Africa has had up to a couple of years ago which banned sexually explicit movies and pornographic magazines. I've been heart broken to see that changing and feel that if we follow the same route as other countries, we can expect sexual crimes to escalate. Please tighten the censorship on pornography not loosen it.

2. On the point of abortion I firmly believe that life begins at conception and eachfoetushastherighttolife. Pleasereconsideryouroptionsregardingabortion, adoption is an alternative, there are so (end of page 1) many childless couples. lets give them hope. With all the blood shed our country has experienced should'nt we be saving lives not murdering even more.

3. Regarding the trend towards homosexual relationships and marriages, I strongly object to any legalisation for gays to marry and even to adopt. What kind of society are we becoming anyway? I am not a homophonic, just a very concerned individual who's very worried about the effect on a child thats adopted by a gay couple, what image is that child going to have of society if he/she accepts the abnormal as normal.

We call ourselves a Christian country, but what does God feel about these three issues maybe we should read the Bible and find out.

By the way I'm a single 26 year old woman who up to now has loved, enjoyed and been proud to have lived in South Africa, is the new constitution going to change that?

Yours sincerely

Miss Elizabeth Caffyn
