AFRICAN CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATIC PARTY

(MILNERTON BRANCH)

26 January 1995

On behalf of the iminbers of the Milnertan region branch of the ACDP. we would like to comment as follows:-

We refer you to: CHAPTER 3: FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

(Heading): EQUALITY 8. (2)

We are formally requesting that "SEXUAL ORIENTATION", as stated in this clause, be DELETED. The reasons for this request are as follows

  1. Evidence has shown that when immorality is legislated, a host

of problems come along with it. To mention but a few: victimisation, degradation, sexual abuse, child MOLESTATION, drug and alchohol abuse, obscenity, prostitution etc etc.

  1. The majority of the citizens of this nation are opposed to the

legislation of homosexuality and lesbianism. This is in direct conflict with their religious beliefs.

3. We cannot legalise ANYTHING, In whatsoever form, that could be of potential danger to the people. We cannot afford to legalise ANYTHING that could lead to an increase in the crime rate, which is already too high.

4. The nation has a moral obligation to protect the “RIGHTS” of those persons who seek to live good moral lives, based on Godly principles and not be subjected to perversion at every turn,

5. Evidence exists where the Church and the medical profession have bad to "pick up the pieces" of broken and ruined lives, that are &a a d-irect result, of man,, women and children who have been FORCED, against their will, into this kind of perversion.

  1. This forn of "lifestyle" would be protected under the right of

equality. Sexual orientation, which refers to homosexuality and lesbianism, is an infringement on the "equality" "rights" of the majority of this nation who strongly object to being put on a par, as it were, with this kind of lifestyle. Equal is defined

as: the same, alike, uniformity, equivalent, similar. NO sir, we
are NOT equal. We do not condemn the person, but the lifestyle and know that this can be changed through proper counselling. 7. So, let us rather then seek proper counsel for these Misguided persons, rather than let lives be ruined and allow our nation to he cursed, by allowing all forms of perversion and moral decay to pollute our "new" South Africa.

We therefore urge you to delete this portion of Clause 8 (2) in the interest of ALL the people in this land.

Yours in His service

E VAN EYK (MRS)
(CHAIRMAN)
MILNERTON REGION OF THE ACDP
