Dear Sir
House ownership is
one of the most basic economic resources and one which is distributed very
unevenly in South Africa.
All along the South African coast we find huge,
fully furnished holiday homes which are used for ± 3 months of each year.
In
contrast most South Africans do not have ownership of their own
home.
I feel it should be built into the Constitution that these people
should pay extremely high tax for owning a second luxury home.
At the same time
ordinary salary earners should enjoy a relief in tax. The salary earner should
not be responsible for paying the
most tax in this country.
Thank you for
the opportunity to make my modest contribution.
Yours
faithfully
W.J. RAMSAUER
