SUGGESTION ON ITEM VI : PUBLIC
FINANCE
I will be very happy if you are well. We are also well. My
complaint is about what is happening here in Umlazi. We were paying
R5-00 per
month for water to KwaZulu Government, while the township was still under its
control. When the Durban City Council took
over, the people at the Township
Offices (eMaweleni), under the KwaZulu Government issued water accounts and
claimed that we owe
between R500 and Rl 700 per month, something we do not know
how it came about, because pipes are leaking day and night, in such a
way that
we do without water for some time! We are definitely not happy about paying
such a lot a+ money.
We ask the new Government to erase all these arrears, so
that we can start afresh paying for water, because we now have new metres
that
were installed by the Corporation.
We, citizens of Umlazi, will be very much
thankful if our request receives a favourable consideration.
