Re: Capitol Punishment [1994] ZAConAsmRes 61 (18 December 1994)

December 18, 1994.

Attention the Theme Committee 1 V.

Re CAPITOL PUNISHMENT.

I believe into the final draft of the Constitutional bill of rights it is the intention of your committee to include,

THE RIGHT TO LIFE AND TO ABOLISH CAPITOL PUNISHMENT.

In my opinion life is a most precious gift given by GOD
Unfortunately with the high crime rate prevailing in South Africa and the tremendous number of Murders taking place it appears the right to life is not respected by the people committing these Murders.

I THEREFORE REQUEST THE IMMEDIATE REINTRODUCTION) OF THE DEATH PENALTY FOR PERSONS WHO COMMIT MURDER.

T believe that any Person who commits murder, have shown by their actions that they do not respect the fundamental right to life and therefor there should be no rights written into the Constitution to protect them from the Death Penalty

I am certain if a referendum was introduced by the Government on this subject there would be an overwhelming majority of votes by all races for the reintroduction of the Death penalty for Murder because in South Africa no one is now safe NOT EVEN THE POLICE.

I thank you for you attention to my views.
Yours faithfully
