Your
letter dated 6 December 1994, received today, has reference.
The matters
that are being dealt with by your Committee are of great importance to both
financial institutions and public enterprises
as well as all businesses in the
private sector. The banking industry, in particular, has a great interest in
the outcome of your
Committee's deliberations.
We wish to point out that
the time allowed for consultation is inadequate, especially at this time of the
year when most people take
their annual leave. More time is required for the
banking industry to formulate a proper, considered and proactive response to the
items listed in your letter.
Please advise whether you would be prepared
to consider extending the submission date to at least a month later i.e. 1 0
February,
1995
