              UNOPPOSED MOTIONS DIRECTIVE: 30 JAN, 01 FEB & 03 FEB 2023

              BEFORE LENYAI AJ

1.            All the proceedings will be conducted in OPEN COURT 8G  at 10:00.

2.            Counsel for each matter is required to furnish the court with one hard copy of the draft order sought as well as the settlement agreement where applicable.

3.            Draft orders must correctly depict the Judge’s name (i.e LENYAI AJ), date on which the matter was heard, in which court room and the name and contact details of the counsel (if any) and instructing attorney at the end of the draft.

4.            Stamped and signed draft orders will be uploaded on Caselines on the day that the matter is heard unless the court proceedings were delayed and as a result the court adjourned late.

5.            A draft order and practice note, indicating the nature of the application, any relevant aspect that counsel which to bring to the Court’s attention, the date, number on the roll and the contact details (including email address) of the legal practitioner, must be uploaded on Caselines in a separate section before 9:00 the court day preceding the hearing of the application.

6.            Notice of removals must be transmitted electronically to the secretary at Mkhokhotho@judiciary.org.za before 9:00 the court day preceding the hearing of the application and uploaded on Caselines in a separate section. Counsel will automatically be excused from appearing if receipt of removal has been confirmed.

7.            During the proceedings the following shall be adhered to:

7.1       Introductions shall take place in chambers. Only counsels who have not appeared before Judge are requested to report to the office of the secretary at 4.13 on 4^th Floor at 09:45 a.m for introductions.

7.2       Matters may be called in order of seniority (including matters that stood down) after postponements, settlements and removals.
