JUDGE PRESIDENT'S DIRECTIVE NO 05/2021

TO:      ALL LEGAL PRACTITIONERS ALL REGISTRARS

AND TO: LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL PRACTICE COUNCIL LIMPOPO SOCIETY OF ADVOCATES

RE: ADMISSIONS OF LEGAL PRACTITIONERS & SUSPENSIONS / REMOVAL FROM THE ROLL OF LEGAL PRACTITIONERS

1.                  TAKE NOTICE THAT measures have now been put in place for the Limpopo Local Division, Thohoyandou to entertain or handle applications for the admissions and suspensions or removal of legal practitioners from the Roll of practice.

2.                  With effect from the 1^st of March 2022 all applications for admission and suspension/ removal of legal practitioners from the roll may be made to the Limpopo Local Division, Thohoyandou subject to such matters falling within the area of jurisdiction of that Court.

3.            The Limpopo Division, Polokwane shall retain its concurrent jurisdiction to hear such applications in case the applicant chooses or wishes to bring the application in the Limpopo Division, Polokwane.

4.            Practitioners are reminded that the Notice of Application for admission must be served on the Legal Practice Council as well as the Society of Advocates in case of admission as Advocates.

5.            My Practice Directive number 01/2016 dated 4 February 2016 is hereby revoked.
