Opposed to Phrase 'Sexual Orientation' in Clause 8(2) [1995] ZAConAsmRes 794 (13 February 1995)

13/02/95

OPPOSED TO PHRASE "SEXUAL ORIENTATION" IN CLAUSE 8(2)

1 refer to the abovementioned phrase found in Clause 8(2) and would like to express my feelings concerning this issue.

1 was deeply disturbed when this issue was brought to my attention. To my understanding, this particular phrase actually says that there would be no unfair discrimination against any form of sexual orientation and that all forms of sexual perversion would be 'ok", in other words homosexuality will be regarded as "normal". This is a very serious issue and I strongly feel in my spirit that this phrase should he omitted from Clause 8(2)* Just think what the consequences of such legislation would be. We as South Africans will definatly find no favour in the eyes of God.

Please sirlmadam, let us not be held responsible for Gods' wrath to fall upon this beautiful land Our Gad is a Holy and Mighty God. How do we expect (god to bless this Country if it is filled with such perversity.

I beseech you sirlmadam to kindly consider the above situation. Please think how this will effect the moral future of our country. Think of the thousands that are already dying of AIDS and other sexually transmitted deseases. The omission of this single phrase could make a great difference in this Country.

LET GODS WAY BE OUR WAY I

Yours sincerely

Miss L Bantom
