Items which I consider to be of extreme importance are
listed below:
- Cabinet
Ministers and Deputies must be held responsible and accountable for their
portfolios including resignation from office in
the event of corruption at
senior levels or gross incompetence.
- Cabinet
Ministers and Deputies to declare all investments in business operations and to
lodge all certificates with an appropriate
authority for their term of office.
Annual Balance Sheets to be lodged with that authority.
- All
members of Parliament to submit Annual Balance Sheets to that authority who
should be empowered to investigate any or all aspects.
- The
use of nominees or family members for investment to be illegal. Family Balance
Sheets to be lodged with the authority.
- No
person guilty of any criminal offence, irrespective of any indemnity to be
eligible to be elected or appointed to parliament or
to any sector of the public
service.
- The
establishment of a balanced Disciplinary Committee authorised to investigate and
take action against any member found guilty of
any action utterance or behaviour
involving racial matters or any form of incitement or in any way to bring
Parliament into disrepute.
