Dear Sir/Duiiah Omar

I would like to begin by saying that I am disgusted by the law in South Africa.

My reasons for saying so is that through most articles in the Press and Media ‑when black children are killed suspects are only charged with a maximum of 2 years in prison and are released on bail. In another instance when livestock are stolen by blacks from white farmers they are charged with a minimum of 8 years and are not even released on parole.

I think that this problem should be overcome and my solution is that for every crime there should be an equal but opposite reaction.

Yours sincerely

Farhaad Asmal
