Citizen Contribution: J Geale [1995] ZAConAsmRes 592 (2 February 1995)

2 February 1 995

My concerns regarding the new constitution being debated in the Assembly are as follows - I am a senior citizen of this country, and am born and bred in South Africa.

  1. . My concerns regarding Freedom of Speech affecting the iives of people, surely can't mean that you can write, print or display, whatever the media wants. We need responsible censorship for the minds of our people and especially the children.

  1. On Sex I am opposed to gay rights in the constitution. Surely, they cannot be accepted we all know it is not right.

  1. On Abortion I believe life begins at conception and the thought of legalising abortion is terrifying. We have such potential for good lives and activities, and I humbly ask, that you add my request (end page 1) to the many concerned citizens of our country, the New South Africa.

Sincerely

JEAN GEALE
