This letter is in support of retaining the Human
Sexual Orientation clause that is being debated for inclusion in the final
Constitution.
I strongly support equality for all the diverse people who live
in South Africa. The evidence from the international scientific
community
strongly suggests that sexuality is genetically determined, and is not about
choice.
I feel that South Africa has the opportunity to set the example
in the international arena by including the Human Sexuality Orientation
Clause,
as well as any clause that supports and respects diversity and the dignity of
all humans, regardless of their religious,
moral, political, or sexual
orientation.
Please support the adopting of the Human Sexuality
Orientation Clause so that South Africa can show the world that it has learned
a
valuable lesson from its chequered past.
