Affirmative Action [1995] ZAConAsmRes 1183 (26 April 1995)

26 April 1995

Affirmative Action

As a white woman, I object to the way in which affirmative action is being practiced. At this stage, discrimination against white males, is being openly practiced. As far as I am concerned, this is not effective and cannot lead to equality. The economy will suffer at certain levels, let alone the socio-economic problems this will bring to some families. Change does not always mean an improvement. Thus, you should ensure that the changes made will lead to an improved South Africa, even on the economic terrain.

Democracy does not mean that people should eventually use the constitutional court to maintain democracy.
