- It is hereby notified that
the President has assented to the following Act which is hereby
published for general information:-

ACT

- To amend the Usury Act,
1968, so as to make provision for the assignment of certain
functions and powers to a competent authority
within the
jurisdiction of the government of a province; and to provide for
matters connected therewith.

- BE IT ENACTED by the
Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-

- Insertion of section 12A
in Act 73 of 1968
-
- 1. The following section
is hereby inserted in the Usury Act, 1968, after section 12:
-
- "Assignment of
functions and powers by Minister
-
- <<12A. The
Minister may by notice in the Gazette assign any function assigned
to and any power conferred upon the Registrar
by or under this Act
to a competent authority within the jurisdiction of the government
of a province.>>".

- Short title
-
- 2. This Act shall be
called the Usury Amendment Act, 1995.
