the President has assented to the following Act which is hereby
published for general information:-

ACT

- To amend the Sale and
Service Matters Act, 1964, so as to make provision for the
assignment of certain functions and powers to
a competent authority
within the jurisdiction of the government of a province; and to
provide for matters connected therewith.

- BE IT ENACTED by the
Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:- Insertion
of section 2A in Act 25 of 1964
-
1. The following section is
hereby inserted in the Sale and Service Matters
-
Act, 1964, after section 2:
-
- "Assignment of
functions and powers by Minister
-
- <<2A. The Minister
may by notice in the Gazette assign any function assigned to and
any power conferred upon the Controller
by or under this Act to a
competent authority within the jurisdiction of the government of a
province.>>".

- Short title
-
- 2. This Act shall be
called the Sale and Service Matters Amendment Act, 1995.
