These matters are always difficult to decide, particularly where neither of the parties have any substantial assets or any substantial income at all. In the result one must make a rough and ready decision as to how to meet the claims in this matter, and in the result I direct that the respondent will pay maintenance for the applicant at the rate of R2 500,00 per month with effect from 15 April, that is from tomorrow, and thereafter on the 15,h day of each succeeding month on a pendente lite basis.

As far as the application for contribution towards cost is corncerned at this stage I feel that an amount of R10 000,00 would be more than sufficient and if further funds are genuinely needed, a further application can be brought in due course. The question of costs will stand over for determination in the trial.
