DECLARATION OF PEACE OFFICERS IN TERMS OF SECTION 334 OF THE CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACT, 1977 1.

Under section 334(l)(a) of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1977 (Act 51 of 1977), I hereby declare that every person who, by virtue of his or her office, falls within the category defined in column 1 of the Schedule to the notice, shall, within the area specified in column 2 of the Schedule, be a peace officer for the purposes of exercising, with reference to the offences specified in column 3 of the Schedule, the powers defined in column 4 of the Schedule. Under section 334(3)(a) of the said Criminal Procedure Act, 1977, I hereby prescribe that no certificate of appointment referred to in section 334(2)(a) of that Act shall be issued to any person referred to in column 1 of the Schedule, unless the employer of such person has been furnished with a certificate issued by the Inspector-General of the Namibian Police wherein it is stated that in the opinion of the said Inspector-General such person is competent to exercise the powers defined in column 4 of the Schedule. Under section 334(3)(b) of the said Criminal Procedure Act, 1977, I hereby prescribe that the following matters shall appear in or on the certificate of appointment referred to in section 334(2)(a) ofthatAct, issued to any person referred to in column 1 of the Schedule.

ESTATE AGENTS ACT, 1976 AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE STANDARDS OF TRAINING OF ESTATE AGENTS The Minister of Trade and Industry after consultation with the Estate Agents Board has under section 33 of the Estate Agents Act, 1976 (Act 112 of 1976), made the re~lations which are set out in the Schedule.

SCHEDULE

1. In these regulations "the Regulations" means the regulations promulgated by Government Notice R. 1409 of 1983.
2. Regulations 4(b) of the regulations is repealed and substituted by the following regulation: "4(b) Each prospective entrant for the examination shall not less than four weeks prior to the date on which such examination is to be held make written application to the board to write such examination which application shall be accompanied by a fee of N$250.00.

3. The Prescribed Examination Fee Regulations which are promulgated in Government Notice R.2696 of 1983 are repealed. 4. These regulations shall come into operation on 1 January 1997.

ESTATE AGENTS ACT, 1976: AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS FOR THE ISSUE OF FIDELITY FUND AND REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES The Minister of Trade and Industry after consultation with the Estate Agents Board has under section 33 of the Estate Agents Act, 1976 (Act 112 of 1976), made the regulations set out in the Schedule. SCHEDULE 1. In these regulations "the Regulations" means the regulations promulgated by Government Notice R.1798 of 1986, corrected by Government Notice R.2106 of 1986 and amended by Government NoticeAG. 97 of 1989. 2. Regulations 2(1) of the Regulations is repealed and substituted by the following regulations: "2(1) (a) Any estate agent shall for the calender year 1996 and annually thereafter pay to the Board a levy of N$450.00; and excluding an estate agent referred to in paragraph (cA) of the definition of "estate agent" in section 1 of the Act, shall for the calender year 1996 and annually thereafter pay to the fund a contribution of N$200.00."
