3. One prescription period for all debts

3.1 In setting a limitation period it will never be possible to achieve complete fairness and a different regime in each case introduces needless complexity into the law.^[5]

3.2 One of the techniques utilised by modern legislation and legislative proposals to streamline the law relating to limitation periods is reducing the number of limitation periods.^[6]
