An Act to amend the Stamp Ordinance
[2ND MARCH, ENACTED 1962]

by the Parliament of Tanganyika. 1. This Act may be cited as the Stamp Ordinance (Amendment) Short title Act, 1962, and shall be read as one with the Stamp Ordinance (herein- instruction after called the Ordinance). cap. 189 2 . Section 2 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting Section 2 of immediately after the definition "marketable security" contained there¬ in the following new definition: — " 'Minister' means the Minister for the time being responsible for finance;". 3. Section 4 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting Section 4 of immediately after the words "by this Ordinance" in the second H ^ | d thereof the words and symbols "or by a notice issued under section 15a". 4. The Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting immediately after New section 15 thereof the following new section to be numbered 15a: — addedto "Power to 15a.—(1) The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, tostruments direct that any instrument or any class or description of instruments shall, so long as such notice remains in force, be exempt from and shall not be liable to or chargeable with the payment of any duty under this Ordinance. (2) The power conferred upon the Minister by subsection (1) may be exercised with retrospective effect.".
