Angola Legislation Now on SAFLII

SAFLII now publishes Angola numbered acts on the following link:

The collection is currently exclusively available in PDF format but will be gradually converted to various other formats in line with SAFLII’s commitment to offering free and user-friendly access to primary legal materials.

10th Law via the Internet Conference, ICC - Durban, 26-27 November 2009

SAFLII is pleased to announce that the 10th International “Law via the Internet” Conference will be held at the International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa, 26 - 27 November 2009 and will be preceeded by the Annual Meeting of the Legal Information Institutes (LIIs).
 

LawCite: Free Legal Citator

SAFLII provides a free legal citator service, called LawCite, at http://www.saflii.org/LawCite/

LawCite was developed and is maintained by Prof. Andrew Mowbrey from the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) with data collected from collaborating LIIs. 

The service covers Australia, the Pacific, Hong Kong, the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, member countries of SAFLII and other common law jurisdictions. 

SAFLII is working with AustLII to better the coverage of African law on LawCite.

Renaming of High Courts Act - SAFLII changes

 Due to the changes effected by the commencement of the Renaming of High Courts Act, 2008 (Act No. 30 of 2009) the following new databases were created on the SAFLII website:

Impact, Challenges and Networks

The Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII) invites you to the  10th International “Law via the Internet” Conference which SAFLII will be hosting in Durban,  South Africa on  the 26th and 27th  of November 2009.

Practice Support Section

SAFLII has started a new Practice Support section on its Blog. Besides the Court Rolls service which we started late last year, we have now opened a section on Court Notices and Practice Notes, with our first publication - the Cape High Court Consolidated Court Notices and Practice Notes. We shall update you as we continue publishing Practice Support materials. As we upgrade the main SAFLII site, the URL of the section may change, however, this will be indicated o nthe old URL.
